3 Minute Mondays | How Can I Remove Late Student Loan Payments From My Credit Report?

3 Student Loan Questions X 3 Minutes X Monday

Q1: How can I get late student loan payments from my credit report?

A: Your student loan servicer or collection agency likely won’t agree to remove the late payments. And that’s true even if you submit a goodwill letter. Some people have had success getting the entire student loan removed from their credit report by hiring a credit repair professional.

Q2: My school closed a few years after I left. How can I get rid of my student loan debt?

A: You likely won’t be able to get rid of your student loan debt. But you can try submitting a Borrower Defense to Repayment Application.

Q3: I cashed out my 401K last year and now I need to rectify my IBR payment. How can I stop my payment from increasing?

A: If you had a significant change in income (your income is less than what it was on last year’s tax return) you can complete the recertification process using your pay stub or other proof of your current income.
