Federal student loan payments for student loans owned by the Department of Education are suspended through 2020.
This suspension covers most but not all borrowers.
You see the Dept. of Education doesn’t directly own all federal student loans. Some federal student loans are owned by your school (Perkins Loans) or by a guaranty agency (MOHELA, Trellis, NYSHE, etc.). Those loans aren’t covered by the Executive Order.
